Tour Description

Air Whitsunday tours operate daily and are scheduled around low tide to ensure optimal conditions both at the reef and Whitehaven Beach. Therefore they do not have a set scheduled departure time for tours. If you would like to know the departure time for any of the tours please contact us for details.

What makes Air Whitsunday so unique is their exclusive snorkelling location inside Hardy Reef, where they have their own semi-submersibles moored. All trips to these locations are scheduled at low tide, being surrounded by a reef wall it creates a suspended coral lagoon for the aircraft to land and the guests to snorkel in. On this tide the location is 7-8 metres deep which gives the first time snorkeller more confidence, while the more experienced can enjoy the abundance of sea life and coral that the added protection of the reef wall has provided.

Along with snorkelling tours to the reef they also provide day trips to Island Resorts, picnics at Whitehaven Beach, scenic flights with the added bonus of a water landing and with the Whitsundays being so well known for it’s yachting compatibility, what could be more romantic than being picked up from your yacht by seaplane for any of our amazing tours.

PANORAMA TOUR: $425.00 pp

There is a good reason why this tour is our most popular. See the best the Whitsunday region has to offer in one tour. Enjoy the incredible textures and colours of the Great Barrier Reef from the air and then the fantastic fish and coral from under the water. This tour includes a spectacular scenic flight over the Whitsunday Islands, Heart Reef and two hours snorkelling and coral viewing from our private semi submersible at the reef in small groups. The vessel has an underwater viewing chamber, sun and shade deck areas with easy access into the water.

Combine this with a relaxing one hour visit to Whitehaven Beach, a beautiful silica beach on Whitsunday Island where you can enjoy a picnic lunch and an exploration of one of the worlds top 10 beaches. (In some weather conditions this tour may require the seaplane to land at an alternate beach in the vicinity of Whitehaven Bay).

Includes: Picnic snacks*, cheese and crackers, sparkling wine and chilled water, all snorkelling equipment, detailed commentary of the area. *Please note that Hayman guests are required to organise their catering through In Room Dining when on island.

REEF ADVENTURE TOUR: $315.00 pp

Duration: 3 hours

Departing daily, our seaplanes will showcase the magnitude of the Great Barrier Reef from above, before landing and transferring to our private semi-subs at Hardy Reef for two hours coral viewing and snorkelling. Enjoy aerial views of Hook, Hardy and Heart Reefs from above and explore this amazing underwater world from below. Our seaplanes have large, unobstructed windows perfect for photography. Our vessels have an underwater viewing chamber, sun and shade decks and easy step access into the water. Groups are limited to a maximum of 22 people to ensure that you receive the very best of Air Whitsunday's friendly attention. Snorkelling assistance and tuition is provided. All ages and fitness levels are catered for.

Includes: Return seaplane scenic flights, in-flight commentary, scenic views of Whitsunday Islands and Heart Reef, two hours at the reef snorkelling and coral viewing, snorkel equipment, buoyancy vests and devices, refreshments, sparkling wine and a small snack.

What to bring: Camera, sunscreen, towel and sun hat. If you have your own snorkeling equipment you are more than welcome to bring it along.

WHITEHAVEN EXPERIENCE: $240.00 pp

Visit the famous Whitehaven Beach by seaplane. Flights depart daily and include a spectacular direct scenic flight over the Whitsunday passage, islands and Hill Inlet. Our seaplanes land gracefully at an area of beach with few or no other visitors

(In some weather conditions this tour may require the seaplane to land at an alternate beach in the vicinity of Whitehaven Bay).

Includes: Refreshments, sparkling wine and a small picnic snack*, 1.5 hours on Whitehaven Beach. return seaplane flights to Whitehaven Beach, in-flight commentary. *Please note that Hayman guests are required to organise their catering through In Room Dining when on island.

Enjoy the beauty of the islands and reef from our famous seaplanes and land at Fantasea Reefworld for the day. Includes a buffet lunch and the return cruise to Shute Harbour with Fantasea. Diving is available as an option. (Tides may require cruise/fly) Minimum numbers apply.
