There's even more to the Whitsundays than the reef and islands .. local estuaries and wetlands stretch from the coast to Proserpine River, located in the Whitsunday marine park. This is home to many species of native birds, mammals, reptiles and marine animals. Proserpine River Eco Tour's campsite base is situated on the bank of the Proserpine River, surrounded by mangroves, forest and flood plains. They have a covered tent area, with tables, chairs and toilet facilities.
The safari features a calm river cruise giving you the opportunity to spot some of the 150 estuarine crocodiles lazing on the muddy banks. With the help of our professional, local guides, you will learn how a mangrove eco system works and meet some of the interesting inhabitants.
As you travel across Goorganga Plains in the tractor-drawn wagon-train, enjoy a panoramic view of this nationally listed wetland habitat and experience unique Australian scenery and wildlife. You will travel through flood plains, pastures, saltpans and melaleuca forests.
With freshly made bushman's billy tea and damper for morning or afternoon tea and a traditional Aussie barbeque lunch, your natural Australian experience will be complete.
Whitsunday Crocodile Safari is an all weather operation and carry a maximum of 31 passangers per vehicle. The safari is fully guided with comprehensive commentary offered throughout the day.
