Trip Description

Explore the Whitsunday Coast hinterland with a visit to Cedar Creek Falls and rockpool. Swim in the fresh waterhole, explore the creek up- and downstream from the falls. The hike to the top of the falls is not for the faint hearted, but is worth the climb for the adventurous. After rain the waterfall will be flowing (seasonal). Listen to the sounds of the Australian bush with birds and butterflies making a flash appearance. Look for freshwater turtles.

On to Whitsunday Gold Coffee Farm for a quick rest stop where you can buy a coffee and morning tea snack. Visit the menagerie full of bright, colourful native Australian birds, and meet the resident animals: Crispy & Crackle the pigs, the chickens and doves, goats, alpacas, and guinea pigs.

Don't eat too much, because our next stop is north to the Hydeaway Bay region through cane farms and cattle properties to Cape Gloucester Resort for lunch. Enjoy a refreshing beverage and delicious meal from the menu (own cost). Dine on the deck overlooking the beachfront getaway.

Our visit to Cape Gloucester includes time to meander along the beach, dip our toes in the water, and a visit to one of our favourite secret spots nearby.
